How can climate neutrality become a matter of course in everyday municipal life? This was the question that launched the Klima-RT-LAB real-world laboratory in 2021. Five years later, the results have now been presented to the public: 18 concrete recommendations show how city administrations, municipal utilities and public companies can effectively implement climate protection.
Dialogik was involved as a research partner from the outset, contributing expertise in dialogue, participation and transfer formats in particular. The focus was on exchange between science, administration, politics and civil society, as well as the translation of scientific findings into practical recommendations for action.
At the closing event in January 2026, representatives from local authorities, science and politics discussed the next steps on the road to climate neutrality in 2040. The event and the concluding panel discussion were moderated by Ludger Benighaus (Dialogik).
The real-world laboratory, supported by Reutlingen University, is a prime example of how transdisciplinary research can have a concrete impact on municipal practice – an approach that Dialogik has been supporting and developing for many years.
