Countering Actor Conflicts in the Energy Transition: Impulses for Instrument Development

The SyKonaS project, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), published a position paper that provides various approaches for practitioners and researchers to address actor conflicts in the energy transition.

The position paper addresses societal conflicts related to the energy transition as a political and legal field of action and offers a range of instrument options for managing both existing and potential future actor conflicts within the context of the energy transition. The focus of this paper is exemplarily on conflict resolution in the transformation of the electricity sector and on the three selected conflict areas: justice and cost/burden distribution, land use, and participation.
