Brief description
As part of the program of the Stiftung Kinderland, innovative, pedagogically supervised vacation programs for democracy education for children aged 4 to 14 are to be supported. The aim is to discover democracy in a playful way, to try it out in practice through cooperation, and to convey to children at an early age the value of participation, fairness, respect, and responsibility.
Children are given the opportunity to experience democracy in their everyday lives - by actively shaping activities themselves, making decisions, resolving conflicts, and taking responsibility together. These vacation programs go beyond the mere transfer of knowledge and open up concrete experiences, for example through participation in projects, role-playing, simulation games, creative forms of expression, or collective action.
The focus is on participation, fairness, respect, negotiation processes, and an appreciative approach to diversity.
