Operationalization of the “risk maturity model” with special consideration to lifestyle and value approaches as a basis for risk communication in the field of radiation protection

Brief description

The ability and motivation of citizens to understand scientific knowledge about radiation risks as well as taking this knowledge into consideration for their own value-driven judgements (so called risk maturity) is of great importance for risk communication in the field of radiation protection. It is the aim of this research project to measure the degree of risk maturity in the German public and give some hints for increasing the level of risk maturity. The project is funded by the Federal Office of Radiation Protection.
