Commissioned by the International Risk Governance Council (IRGC), DIALOGIK works on risk classifications and risk management strategies in order to design a general framework of risk analysis.

Brief description
The IRGC, with headquarters in Geneva, is an independent non-profit foundation. With its work, IRGC aims to improve the understanding and management of traditional and systemic risks. DIALOGIK as a subcontractor conducts fundamental research. The objective of the project is to design a new framework of risk governance approaches, which takes the characteristics of different risks into account, but also follows the internationally established principles of risk management and leaves space for intercultural differences.
Starting out from the critical incorporation of already existing risk classifications, an innovative framework of analysis will be designed which is universally applicable. The aim is to achieve a unified terminology and characterisation of different types of human-induced and natural risks, based on consensually agreed upon criteria. On the basis of this risk characterisation, a conclusive and practicable risk management framework will be developed.
